We always want to be able to communicate verbally with our dogs because then we no longer have to worry about not understanding each other. But the truth is, dogs can communicate with you in many ways, even if they can’t speak. Here are some behaviors dogs use to communicate their intentions to you. Learning these “languages” will help you understand your dog and prevent some accidents from happening.
1. Give something to the owner
Most dogs bring “toys” to their owners when they want to play. They’ll pick up some toys, or sticks to throw, or something, which usually means they want you to play with them.
2.They squat down and tuck their tails
This is body language that is very easy to understand. If your dog squats down, tucks his tail, and ducks away, he’s letting you know he’s scared. If you ignore its behavior and continue to scare it, they may bite you to let you know how they feel.
3.Panting when the weather is not hot
If it’s not hot and your dog is panting, he’s stressed. If your dog is behaving this way, you need to think about what is causing the stress and try to relieve it.
4.Make a low whining sound
There are so many reasons why dogs purr. For example, some dogs purr when they find there is no water in their bowl, while others purr when they want to go to the toilet. Or they may purr when they feel excited or nervous. One way to do this is to judge their intentions based on the situation they are in when they complain. For example, if they purr in front of the door, it could be that they want to go outside and play.
5.Turn around suddenly
You may often ignore this behavior in your dog. Sometimes when you are playing with your dog, they will suddenly turn to where you are touching them. In fact, this movement means they are uncomfortable or nervous about your touch. This is actually a warning sign that if you continue to do this, it might bite you. Paying attention to this can prevent you or others from being bitten by a dog.
6.They bark at their owners
Some dogs express their desires by barking. Many people find this behavior in dogs troublesome, but it can be trained. For example, if it has tried to do this before and successfully received a reward, it will continue to choose this way to express itself. Although this behavior is rude, it is also a form of communication.
7.Take a defensive stance
If your dog is acting defensive, it means they are trying to tell you that they feel like something is going on that they don’t like. This is their reaction to a situation, such as seeing a stranger or meeting another dog. Please pay attention to this to prevent your dog from fighting with other dogs. If your dog suddenly freezes and stares, distract him and take him somewhere else.
Don’t ignore the dog’s feelings just because the dog can’t speak and can not complain to the owner. The dogs still have a lot of behaviors to try to communicate with the owner. You will only be successful in reading your dog’s mind when you are able to understand your dog’s behavior and body language.
